News so great I couldn’t wait to tell you!

Greetings, friends and fellow music lovers! It feels like we are finally turning toward spring and maaaan am I ready for it! I hope you are keeping healthy and keeping your spirits up. It brings me joy to connect in any way we can. 🙂

Here are a few deliciously fun things coming up I just couldn’t wait to tell you about. Hope to “see” you there.

Thursday, Feb 25 – TOMORROW NIGHT –  I am thrilled to host another Joyful Measures Livestream concert, this time featuring friends and luminous songbirds Sarah Sample and Edie Carey. You can watch on my Facebook music page, and you don’t have to have a Facebook account to watch. The intent of this offering is to create a space for beauty, solace, connection, and celebration through word and song while also getting to hear my friends! Sarah Sample and Edie Carey create lush, moving, gorgeous music that moves me deeply — both as solo artists, and as a duo. They teamed up to create a lullaby album called “Til The Morning” that is one of my favorites of all time. A night with these two light-bringers is just the medicine we need! And also dangit, I miss my friends! We’ll swap songs and tell stories and probably giggle a lot. Plus we’ll have a little conversation about what is bringing us joy right now. It’s free and open to all, and donations to the artists are joyfully accepted at Paypal or Venmo @bethwoodmusic. We hope you’ll tune in at 6:30 Pacific/7:30 Mountain/8:30 Central/9:30 Eastern.

We’ll do a little Zoom after-party after our concert with my Patreon peeps. You can sign up for my Patreon here to get a new song and new poem every month and access to our Zooms!

And then…I can’t wait for this!

March 5-7 – Sisters Songworks 3.0, An Intimate Virtual Writing Retreat. I am so excited to get to curate, facilitate and host this amazing weekend songwriting retreat! The two retreats we have done so far have been incredibly inspiring, heart-warming, and spirit-lifting in a time when I needed it most. Our instructors for this retreat are the amazing Susan GibsonJohnsmith, and Susan Werner. I mean, COME ON!!  Please email me with any questions. Here is the link for info and registration. $175.

And finally…

I am SO excited about new project I’m starting with friends and amazing artists Bre Gregg and Kristen Grainger. It is called “She’s Speaking” and we have invited amazing women songwriters we know to write an original song about a women who inspires her. I’ve been thinking lately about how it’s up to us to make the world we want to live in. One thing I would love to see is more stories about women, and more stories told by women. Women’s voices need to be heard, now more than ever.

We already have so many incredible artists signed on!! We are building a YouTube channel for videos of all the songs and we will launch on March 8, International Women’s Day with a special livestream event. If this lights you up (and we hope it does!) here’s where we could use your help: will you follow our social media channels please? It’s the best way to support the project and stay in touch with news!
