Lullaby Project Concert

The Lullaby Project, a partnership between Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute and the Oregon Symphony, pairs mothers and fathers living in transitional housing at the Portland Homeless Family Solutions Family Village with professional artists to write and sing personal lullabies for their babies as well as older children, supporting parental health, aiding childhood development, and strengthening the bond between parent and child. These songs are then performed live for the families and the community in a public concert. The performance includes parents (if they choose), the singer-songwriters, and a small ensemble of Oregon Symphony musicians.

This year’s live concert will also include songs from our 2020 Lullaby writing workshop, written and recorded, but not performed for an audience, just before gatherings were limited due to the pandemic.

With songwriters Bre Gregg, Naomi LaViolette, Marianna Thielen, Stephanie Schneiderman, LaRhonda Steele and BW.

At Portland’s Lents Park – south end bowl at the SE 92/Steele Park entrance. Parking is limited, arrive early and share a ride, walk or bike over. 2-3 pm. Free and open to the public. No reservations or tickets needed.
