1.  GRATITUDE. Wow. Am I ever grateful! Thank you to these fine folks who made the epic whirlwind of March so wonderful…Dave & Molly Stoddard, Mark Samuelson and friends, Harriet & Barret Wicklund and friends, Dan and Justin at the Space Station, Sean and Kate and friends at Pomme de Terre Pottery, Christine Dean and KUMD, Jason and Beaner’s Central, Bill & Kate Isles, Jamie and all at the New York Mills Cultural Center, Tom May and Artichoke Music, Renee and Quincy, Cheryl & Clint, John Floridis and the Crystal Theater, Sarah Sample and James, Jason and Doc and Live From the Divide, and Sarah Calhoun and friends, and all the good folks who came out to listen!

2. THE NEWS. Well I know you’ll never believe this but April will be a whirlwind, too, just slightly more flowery than March. 🙂 I am super excited for another split bill with the great Tyler Fortier and our bad-ass band in Cottage Grove. These guys rock and we have SO MUCH FUN! And then I’m stoked for another fun songwriters-in-the-round evening with Cal Scott and Richard Moore in Portland! I get to take a short trip to FL for three wonderful shows, and then to Lewisville, TX for an evening with Tom Faulkner and Michael Hearne…and to cap it off, I get to return to Concerts at Our House in Seattle and play at Words & Music concert series in Vaughn, WA… somebody please pinch me!

When I was in Missoula, I had the chance to be interviewed by John Floridis for his Montana Public Radio show Musician’s Spotlight.  Guests on the show have included legendary musicians like B.B King, Alison Krauss, Lyle Lovett, Wilco, Brandi Carlile, Daryl Jones of the Rolling Stones, The Cowboy Junkies, Richard Thompson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bruce Cockburn, Shawn Colvin, and more.  Whaaaaaat?!?!!?  That’s so awesome.  And now little ol’ me. Thanks John! I loved our conversation and can’t wait to hear how it turns out. I’ll be sure to share a link when it is ready.

Other big news: I will be launching my Song of the Month Club again!! But before I get it going, I want to get your feedback…Song Clubbers, is there anything that you’d like to change about the Song of the Month Club? Does Paypal work ok for you?  Please let me know as I am open to all feedback. If you are new to the concept of the Song of the Month Club, I hope you’ll consider joining when I launch it again! Basically, I created the SOTM Club to engage folks in my creative process, to release new material, and to raise money for my CD project I was working on. I asked for a minimum of $10 (and a maximum of whatever you like…the sky’s the limit!!) and I sent a recording of one unreleased song along with liner notes and lyrics on the first of the month for 10 months. So my vision for SOTM Club 2.0 includes songs that are acoustic, guitar and vocal tracks because that’s the direction in which I’m feeling pulled for my next CD!  Look out for my launch soon! Who knows, maybe I’ll throw in a poem or two!!

I was so honored to be a part of the Good Life Central Oregon podcast this month! My buddy Jeremy Storton, a super talented creative spirit and entrepreneur and bad-ass singer-songwriter and guitar player, created the Good Life Central Oregon podcast to highlight stories of folks who are a part of life in central Oregon! I loved our conversation and you can take a listen/look here!

Man, we were so fortunate to get some really fun videos from my Minnesota tour with Dave Stoddard and my Montana shows with Sarah Sample!!  Thank you to Ron Kutsi, the Space Station, and Live from the Divide for capturing these fun moments!  Check some out here…

Thank you Jeff Z for this pic from the Wicklund’s wonderful house concert in Fergus! I love playing with Dave Stoddard!

I love this pic from our video shoot at the Space Station…wheeeeeee!

and check out this brilliant, artsy shot from Holly D! Can you find me?!?

ummm..did i mention it was cold in Fergus Falls, MN?

We had a blast singing at KUMD in Duluth. Right before this, we had a spontaneous hallway jam with a kick-ass band called The Dead Horses. If we had known they were coming, we would have warmed up on a song that’s not in D flat.  🙂 But they were really good sports and jammed it up good!!!

Ridiculous Montana sky…

As our luck would have it, one of the sponsors of our Live From The Divide show in Bozeman is a fried chicken restaurant…woop!! Here I am with the luminous Sarah Sample trying not to look full.

Beautiful Sarah singing “If I Needed You” from her beautiful CD called “Til The Morning: Lullabies and Songs of Comfort” she recorded with Edie Carey. GAWGEOUS!!

I was just a little bit excited about playing at the Red Ants Pants headquarters!!

It was a wonderful night among the pants and lovely folks in White Sulphur Springs!

4. THE FUTURE.  There are so many things to look forward to!  My poetry book is in the artwork phase. I’ve got wonderful shows and collaborations are coming up, and I can’t wait to get my Song Of the Month Club rolling again!  And I’m starting to get super excited for some teaching this summer at The Wood and Stone Songwriting Retreat in June and Joe Craven’s Rivertunes Music Camp in July. Woop!!

I hope we can all take a little time to enjoy the wonder of spring all around us. And I hope to see you all out there on the road. Thank you for reading, for sharing your thoughts, for coming out to shows and for cheering me on in my musical journey!  With much gratitude from your fan,

Beth Wood

Does anyone go to Myspace anymore? Seriously. I haven’t been there in years.

For the love of Pete, somebody please help me with Youtube!

P. S. TIMBER & CODA UPDATE…guess what, we went to the beach!!!

Coda says, “I know I look very regal here, but really I’m just staring at the ball.”  Coda’s not much of a swimmer, but he loves lying in the sand!

And then there’s THIS guy!! Timber was in pure heaven. We think he may be part seal.
