Spring is here with lots of newsy news!

Good morning, friends and fellow music lovers!

Spring is here with her seesaw days and tiny little flowers popping up everywhere. I am leaning forward into longer days and bursting with excitement for several unique and fun events coming up! Details and big picture news below…

GRATITUDE: March was OVER THE TOP amazing with our She’s Speaking Live Roadshow in 6 cities around the Northwest! This collaboration is a dream come true. We sang, we danced, we laughed, we cried, we snacked, we made musical mischief and magic and basked in the afterglow of gratitude for all of the wonderful audiences and venues who loved us up! HUGE thank you to all the folks who made it happen in Eugene, Longview, WA, Hillsboro, Corvallis, Bend, and Salem and to all who gathered to help us celebrate women’s voices, stories and songs! (I’ll share some video and photos below…) And Portland, we’re comin’ for ya! We have one more concert left and that is April 20 at the beautiful Alberta Rose Theatre… if you’re anywhere near, come on down!

In the big picture news, this month marks the four-year anniversary of my Patreon community. I can’t believe it. I am SO incredibly grateful for these folks who support and cheer me on in my artistic journey!! Direct support of artists is the most impactful way we can keep the art coming! And I love sharing new works and the stories behind them in this intentional space. To dive beneath the surface and swim there with y’all is a joy. If you want to learn more, and/or let me serenade you twice monthly from the screen of your tiny device, click here!

And other big big news is that I have completed the manuscript for my new book of poetry. WHAT?!?! More on that coming soon but just wanted to share the good news because I am jump-up-and-down excited! Some people train their dogs to run complex agility courses, some people dress up in medieval costumes, some people brew their own beer, some people garden, some people paint sunsets and flowers, some people move their bodies in time through the air. I make poems and then just try to be patient while their form and sequence reveal themselves. It’s my jam! I also love to make readings of said poems out in beautiful places. (I share those on Patreon each month.) I’m excited to share some of those videos with the wide world once this book is in motion!

I’ve also got new songs coming out of my ears and starting to dream on what to do about it. A theme has emerged and it’s got the wheels turning. In this phase of my artistic life I am less inclined to shout things from rooftops and more inclined to make things quietly and then set them free. Capturing the songs the way they come in and sharing them in minimalist fashion feels resonant right now. Hmmmm…I’d love to get your thoughts and ideas on how you like to hear the songs?

omg y’all the Grand Theatre in Salem was so fun with their light show!!

and it was so dreamy to bring our roadshow to my home turf at The Tower Theatre in Bend!

At the gorgeous Watlers Cultural Center in Hillsboro, we all dressed in purple and green, the colors of International Women’s Day! Love this shot by Norm Eder of a tender moment singing with my She’s Speaking co-founders Kristen Grainger and Bre Gregg.

Having a blast in Corvallis at The Whiteside Theatre…

Before soundcheck in Corvallis, I walked across the street to the fabulous bookstore The Book Bin to browse the used poetry section (as one does…) and lo and behold this gem was sitting face out just waiting for me. 🙂 Yes, we are!

They made us a signature cocktail in Salem, woop!

One of my favorite things about our tour is my nightly tiny drummer selfies with the best drummer evah Ward Griffiths! I had just driven over a very snowy mountain pass and made it to Eugene and my excitement could not be contained!

And back home these are springing up all over the place…

I told Hannah there is snow on the ground this morning and she said this…(She’s not wrong.)

Oh my heart!! Dennis captured this video of She’s Speaking at The Tower Theatre doing my tribute song to Aretha Franklin “Long Live The Queen”. I get chill bumps every time!video preview

Thank you for being a part of my life and my creative journey. I feel extraordinarily lucky to get to make art and share it with you and the world. I hope to see your shining face soon!!

With love and gratitude from your fan,

Beth
