Ara Lee and I wrote this song in January with the help of the great Jen Hajj; we debuted it on Cayamo in February, and we have been working hard on it ever since. The amazing filmmaker Josh Sales exceeded our wildest dreams and producer Ericka Heidrick helped it come to fruition. All the musicians on the recording and all the people in video donated their time. Nia Studio in Portland donated the space for the video shoot. And on Saturday we celebrated the lauch with a jam-packed concert featuring many of the folks who took part in the recording. It has been an absolute joy and wonder to watch it come together, largely through the sheer force of will that is Ara Lee. Thank you Ara for birthing this project and for helping me articulate my feelings and raise my voice. Thank you Jenn Hajj for helping is write it. Thank you Josh Sales and Ericka Tyche Heidrick for an amazing piece of art. Thank you to all the musicians and who donated their time and talents. Thank you to all who participated in the video shoot. Thank you to all who celebrated the video premiere with us on Saturday night!
