Greetings, friends and fellow music lovers!
As summer is winding down and fall is creeping in, I gaze with a full heart on the pages of my calendar for the rest of 2016. What an amazing year it has been, and there is so much more fun to come! Here’s what’s happening, and I hope you’ll scroll down for gratitude, news, random photos, and musings.
1. GRATITUDE. Oh August, I thought my heart might burst. Thank you so much to all these fine folks for helping me live the dream…James and Karen and the Home By Dark team, Lori & Michael and all at F Street Gallery in Salida, Steve S and the kind folks in Mountain Village, Briony & Chris, Sean & Diane and all in Gunnison and to Ann & Bop for being awesome roadies! And p.s. Thank you Brianne for readding this haha. 🙂
2. THE NEWS. Ok friends, next year will be my 20th year as a touring musician. (Whaaaat?!?) Anyway, once the shock of that number started to wear off, I realized that I have played in every state except for Hawaii. (Whaaaaat?!?) So I need your help on this one. Does anyone know of a place to play/concert series/house concert in Hawaii that we can reach out to? It would be the perfect way to celebrate 20 years! And you would be invited. 🙂 Holler at me at bethwoodmusic@hotmail.com if you have ideas!
The new album “Spring Tide” has been holding steady on the folk radio charts, woohoo! Thank you to all the wonderful DJ’s whose labor of love is sharing music like mine with their listeners. Here’s a nice video put together by my buddy Erik Balkey at Hudson Harding…a sampling of songs on the new CD.

And check it out: “Spring Tide” is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby!
I just saw that the City of Allen, TX put up a video of the entire show we did at their beautiful library theater this spring with Tom Faulkner and Susan Gibson! So get in yo jammies, pop some popcorn, and enjoy!

I am gearing up for the Sisters Americana Song Academy and Folk Festival next week! Song Academy is such a transformative week, a gathering of brave songwriters in a jaw-droppingly beautiful setting with the intent of focusing on creativity, community, and fun. I am so excited that I get to be a part of it! And I am stoked to be playing a set at the festival this year. I will take the Belfry stage at 1:30 on Saturday to sing some songs from my new CD “Spring Tide” with the gorgeous vocal styings of Ara Lee and a few other special guests. WOOP! I’m thrilled to be sitting in with Ara Lee for her sets (Saturday at 7:30 at the Open Door and Sunday at noon at The Belfry) along with the great Kathryn Claire and other muscial guests! And of course, the Sunday Community Celebration is going to be so much fun! Remember, the commmuity show (10 am Sunday at the Village Green) is free and open to all. It is the festival’s way of saying thank you to the community. I hope to see y’all there!

Oh we had so much Home By Dark fun in August!! This is from one of our Chukkar Farm shows…we were very purple that night.

the Chukkar Farm crew..had such a blast with Ernie Halter and the house band!

F Street Gallery in Salida was such a lovely setting for a concert! and then we walked across the street after the show and they had my favorite Portland beer on tap…Breakside IPA. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Our Gunnison house concert was such a blast!! Many folks were attending their first house concert. I love it when that happens!

I flew into Amarillo where my trusty roadies Ann & Bop picked me up and we drove to CO. I feel right at home here…I’m from big sky country after all.

Seriously? A fly shop/coffee shop combo in Creede??? I think I found heaven on earth. If only they had puppies.

Suited up and ready to hit the stream! Caught my nicest brown of the whole trip in those first few minutes. You can always tell how big the fish is by how loud I scream… 🙂

happy place!

this guy was hanging out in the same valley

a little sound-check moment with the great Michael Logen before our amazing Home By Dark show in Loveland

we loved the Rialto Theater!
