1. GRATITUDE…I am so grateful to all these fine folks for making September so dreamy…PJ, Brad Tisdel, Ara Lee, Anna Tivel, Jaimee Simundson, Shireen Amini, Steven Skolnik, Milo Fultz, and all the wonderful staff and music lovers at Sisters song camp and festival! It is always magical, and this year seemed particularly so. Thank you Bill & Debbie and friends, Mary and Nathan and The Stacks Coffhouse, Bob and Pam Howard and all at Ascension, Sarah Collins and Mount Tabor Music School, and Gabrielle Louise and all at Leyline Studios!

2. THE NEWS…I am excited to be heading to CO just in time for the beautiful aspen leaves to turn golden! It will be my first time playing in Del Norte, a town I have driven through a thousand times and I’m looking forward to getting to know it better. Also I am thrilled and honored to be a part of two Chuck Pyle tribute concerts in Denver and Fort Collins. Chuck was an amazing writer and player and singer and toured on the folk circuit for many years. He was affectionately know as The Zen Cowboy, and his music means a lot to me. When I was just starting out and living in NC, I got to stay after his show at the Grey Eagle for an improptu song circle, and he was very encouraging of me and my writing and singing. That meant the world to me and it still does. I wrote a poem about him called ‘Cowboy Elegy’ and I’m excited to share it at the concerts along with two of his songs that I am learning. I hope you can help us celebrate and honor him!

Holy moly, things are gearing up for the “official” release of our Stand and Sway album DEEP BLUE. I could not be more proud of this work and more excited to share it with the world. We are working with our publicist (Ever Kipp from Tiny Human in Seattle) to release singles before the Oct 25 album release date. I will keep you posted on that! These songs have lived in our hearts for over a year now and they can’t wait to live and breathe in the big world! If you are anywhere near Portland, I hope you will join us in celebration on Oct 25 at the Alberta Rose Theater. We are pairing up with the power trio Five Letter Word to bring you a night of fun and harmonies and celebration through music. I hope you will join us in celebration at one of Portland’s most beautiful listening venues!

We got a really nice review of our song “Light Me Up” from the blog American Standard Time. Click here to read and to listen!

We are also very excited to be returning to beloved NC to do some Stand and Sway shows! On 10/9 we will be special guests of Jonathan Byrd and The Pickup Cowboy’s Shake Sugaree Americana Resiency at the Kraken in Chapel Hill! The fun thing is they live stream every concert so you can tune in wherever you are. The show starts at 7 pm EST, and we will go on around 8 or 8:15 for a short guest set. Here are all the places you can watch the live stream…

ohmygoodness this was the lineup at our Sisters Folk Festival song camp instructor performance. EPIC!

a quiet moment of humming and poetry…

our impromptu lady band at song camp was so much fun!! Anna Tivel, Mandy Fer, Susan Gibson, Ara Lee James, Pharis Romero plus one, your truly, Erin Youngberg and Ellis all singing Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ with all of camp singing along…pure magic! Let’s take this on the road!

we worked really hard on our set list for the fest haha

we had so much fun at the Belfry closing out Sisters Folk Festival…a bittersweet moment.

Lemme just brag about these guys for a second. Milo Fultz and Steven Skolnik joined us on upright bass and percussion for our Stand and Sway sets at Sisters Folk Festival. It is so much fun to play with such talented and tasteful musicians, not to mention wonderful humans.

our line up for the Sunday Community Celebration… my heart exploded with joy!

the grand finale… pure bliss!

it was so much fun to share some poems at my favorite coffeehouse in Portland, The Stacks!

oh this lady! i loved singing backups on Gabrielle Louise’s new album!

oh this face! this girl is enjoying our crisp fall mornings with the frisbee. but let’s face it, she enjoys any time with the frisbee. Big thank you to my village for watching her while I’m away.

3. THE FUTURE…Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement about my opening to new possibilities! I am so excited for this next chapter. On the airplane the other day, I wrote my new artist’s manisfesto and I’m very excited about it! It includes writing and recording songs, sharing my music and art, collaborating with Ara on Stand and Sway, learning more about poetry and its craft, leading workshops, and building community around music and art and creative expression. It’s all juicy stuff I have loved for years. I will be moving to central Oregon soon and I am thrilled to be heading somewhere so beautiful and rich in friendships and art and connections. Stay tuned, more to come!

As always, I am so grateful to you for walking with me on this creative path. Hope to see you out there soon! With much gratitude from your fan,
