My Feb newsy update!
Hello, friends and fellow music lovers!
Here we are in 2022, and already February has come knocking! I hope you are finding ways to navigate this crazy time we are in! As is always the case, one thing that has kept me going is music. It’s different now making music and not being out there sharing it in the world, but it still such an enormous gift that I am thankful for every day!
In the last 22 months I have turned my attention to internet music-making :), writing, creating songs and poems to share with my Patreon community, and teaching, I have found all of these to be so rewarding and meaningful. So here’s what’s up in then new year…
PATREON. This is hands-down the best way to support my art. It is a community and a subscription to my songs and poems. You can join for as little as $1 a month, and any amount of support is deeply meaningful! Here’s a poem I shared recently with my patrons to give you a little taste of what I’m up to…

SONGS FOREVER! – A SIX-WEEK VIRTUAL SONGWRITING WORKSHOP launches in March! This inclusive, interactive workshop is a wonderful opportunity to gather with other songwriters, to learn from and support and challenge each other, and to set aside time for creativity. Songs are powerful story delivery systems, and I can’t get enough! Songs help us pass down information, access our emotions, open our minds and move our bodies. I believe that engaging with other songwriters in community is a surefire way to spark inspiration and help us grow in our creative practice. We will work together in a supportive, non-judgmental space to access our unique stories and translate them into song. What are the nuts and bolts of songwriting and how can we utilize them to convey our message? What can we learn from other songwriters? We’ll use games and prompts to spark ideas, and we’ll support each other in guiding those ideas into the shape of a song. We will write, share, listen and learn from each other. Bring your open heart, your open mind and your curious spirit. All levels of songwriting experience are welcome. Please email me at bethwoodmusic@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Monday evenings from March 7 – April 11 from 7-8:30 pm Pacific time on Zoom.. Sliding scale $100-$150 (Venmo:@bethwoodmusic or Paypal). Click here to learn more!

Some fun news and a welcome invitation…I just got to sing on my friend David Lamotte’s new album and it was SO MUCH FUN!! What an honor it is to be invited to collaborate with someone whom you admire. I have been walking around singing his songs for weeks now, they’re that good! Here’s David’s website if you want to see what he’s up to. I’ll be sure and share when the album comes out.
I will continue hosting monthly virtual song circles and feedback song salons. Song circles are simple gatherings for the purpose of sharing songs. 2nd Wednesdays at 7 pm Pacific, free and donations joyfully accepted. Feedback song salons are small gatherings to give and receive feedback from other songwriters. $10-$25 sliding scale. These are on last Mondays (except for the March feedback song salon, which will be on Tues, March 29). Please email me at bethwoodmusic@hotmail.com if you’d like to join us!
And finally, the great Tyler Fortier is working hard at producing my next album, and I am SO excited to share it with you and with the world! Hoping for a late spring release and I will keep you posted! Here’s a song that will be on it called The Day After Tomorrow.
And on much more practical note, I’m using a new email newsletter service because the one I used for many years got bought buy a company called CovertKit. So as I’m learning to navigate this new program, please let me know if you have feedback about this new format?
As always, I love hearing from you! Wherever you are, may the music flow and may you find ways to keep your spirits lifted. With much gratitude from your fan,
Beth Wood
