1. GRATITUDE. June was out of this world and I’m still absorbing the awesomeness. Our CD release celebration at Cozmic was one of the most fun times I have ever had -making music or otherwise. Thank you to the best band evah: Peter Perdichizzi, Merlin Showalter, Milo Fultz, Tyler Fortier & Erin Flood-Fortier and to Thaddeus Moore for killer sound. Thanks to Alec and staff at Cozmic for the hospitality and for working to make it a great show. Thanks to KLCC, KRVM, The Eugene Register-Guard and the Eugene Weekly for helping get the word out. Thanks to Ocea, killer merch queen! Thanks to Gabrielle & Brodie and to everyone who showed up to help us celebrate!! I’d also like to thank everyone who helped make my buddy Nathan Brown’s northwest tour a fabulous reality! Thanks to Margie, Suzan, PJ, Keith Greeninger, and Matt Meighan. Thanks to the folks at the Secret Garden/NW Portland Hostel for another fun evening, and to the Eugene Emeralds for encouraging me in my weird hobby of singing the National Anthem! And thanks to Tiff, Andrew, Stanley & Frank for our wonderful boat trip!
2. THE NEWS. In case you missed it, my new CD “Sometimes Love” is here!! I am so incredibly proud of this one, y’all. There are many ways to check out the new music and help support my musical journey at the same time! CDBaby, ITunes, Amazon, Paypal, Mail Order (check for $15 to PO Box 864, Eugene, OR, 97440), and good ol-fashioned in-person sales are some of my favorite ways. Also, if you already have the new music and have a minute and to go above and beyond, you can write a review on CDBaby, Itunes, or Amazon! Thanks to everyone for supporting this album!
July is jam packed with insanely wonderful shows, including a triumverate of local winery gigs (YAY!), a MN/WI tour with my friend Dave Stoddard, one of the funniest and most talented humans I have ever met (YAY!), and an outdoor show in the park in central OR with percussionist Dale Largent and multi-instrumentalist Mai (YAY!). And then the August of travel insanity begins… 🙂
Also new…BW T-shirts!! Designed by Marty and Danny Cowley, modeled by Ocea, these cuties feature a BW guitar symbol on the front and a killer illustration by Danny on back. We’ve got women’s and men’s sizes, a gorgeous grey color in softie 100% cotton. To check em out, click here!

In other random news, on July 27 I will be running my first marathon. There have been a few days in my training that I have wondered why the hell I had this hair-brained idea. But it’s not so crazy, really. I like to run. I like to have goals and work to reach them. There is so much uncertainty and so much that is out of my hands in the music biz that it’s tough to set and meet goals there. So why not set them in my regular life? Besides, Eugene is a great running town (one of its nicknames is “Track Town” after all). I figure the Eugene Martahon is a cultural experience I should be a part of. Plus I can eat all the pasta I want. Win!

4. THE FUTURE..Well the future of my summer looks pretty bright! In August I get to return to one of my all-time favorite concert series, Home By Dark’s Concerts at Chukkar Farm in Alpharetta, GA for two glorious nights. And then I’ll head to Colorado for a family gathering/fly-fishing/hiking extravaganza, followed by singing at lovely Maggie S’s wedding in Kentucky and my first appearance at the Four Corners Folk Festival in Pagosa Springs, CO…whew!!! Renee and I are working on building a great fall tour schedule with Sisters Folk Festival and Americana Song Academy in Sept, a southeast trip in Oct and California in Nov, along with more great NW stuff. WOOHOO!!
Zooming out, I will be formulating a plan for getting “Sometimes Love” out into the world. Radio, press, licensing…there are so many opportunities and so many avenues. I will reach as many as I can with the resources that I have, and then I will reach out for help with the ones that are beyond the reach of my little hands. I don’t know how we’ll get there, but we’ll get there!
Many thanks to all of you for reading my musings, for encouraging me, and for showing up with open hearts! I hope your summer is as wonderful and abundant as my little garden out back!
With much gratitude from your fan,
Beth Wood
