Greetings friends and fellow music lovers! I am sitting in beautiful Pagosa Springs, CO pinching myself at how lucky I am to get to spend some time in the Rockies this summer. Here’s what’s coming up for the rest of July..

Special thanks to Matt Miner, Cal Scott, Richard Moore and all at O’Connors; to Josh Sales, Ara Lee, Ericka Heidrick, Nia Studio, and all who joined us to be part of the video for “Nasty Woman”; to Ara Lee, Kathryn Claire and all at Artichoke Music, to Nic & Mo, T & Chris & Gia, Lisa and Steve and all at Feel Good House Concerts in Boulder; and to Bob Hemenger, Courtney and Michelle and all at Big River Music, THANK YOU!
2. THE NEWS…Pretty exciting stuff with the filming of the video for “Nasty Woman”! I cannot WAIT to share this song/video with you once it is done! We will have the official video/song release celebration in Portland on Oct 14 and it will be a benefit for Planned Parenthood. More details on that to come soon! The folks from Portland Musicians Rising Up were at the video shoot and posted some cool videos on their page here!
I’m super excited to be heading down to Wimberley at the end of this month to start working on my second poetry book! I am sending out a BIG blast of gratitude to all of you who have supported my poetry with the “Kazoo Symphonies” book. I’m looking forward to working with Dr. Nathan Brown, Ashley Stanberry Brown and Mezcalita Press again on this one. Mezcalita Press is quickly becoming the outlet for troubadour poets to release their poetry! They just released a book of poems by Rod Picott called “God In His Slippers”. Can’t wait for my second book! Stay tuned for updates!
I don’t know if this poem will be in the new book, but I was reminded of it as I drove across Wyoming a couple weeks ago…

I mean come on y’all, this is a serious cute overload! This is Juno and she gave me some good puppy snuggles followed by tug-of-war followed by snuggles again. I can barely take it! I love getting doggie time on the road…thanks Nic & Mo!!
4. THE FUTURE…Some time at home this summer will be so good for my spirit! In August I’m also super excited to return to Home By Dark for some shows in GA, and then play some wonderful shows in and around Oregon. The wheels are turning as I’m starting to think about a possile next album…the ideas are swirling and it has been a really cool exercise to gather all these new songs this year. And of course September brings the Sisters Folk Festival and Americana Song Academy, woop!
Thank you so much for cheering me on in my musical journey and for reading all the way to the end. 🙂 Hope to see you out there on the road! With much gratitude from your fan,
