1. GRATITUDE…I feel so grateful for this life in music. I have to stop and pinch myself so often that I look like I have chicken pox. These past two weeks at Hidden River Songwriting Camp were good soul food, and I was reminded of the magic that is the whole reason for all this running around. Special thanks to these folks for making my musical life so wonderful: Sisters Folk Festival and the town of Sisters, RJ Cowdery, Kathy & Gi and the amazing women at the Women, Nature and Song workshop in Veneta, Matt Meighan and Nancy Chafin, Tucker and Ben, Clara, Gordon & Suzan & Walden, and all the open-hearted campers at Hidden River Songwriting Camp!

2. THE NEWS…Great news: the new album “Spring Tide” is getting great support from folk radio. Thank you to all the DJs who support my music and continue the labor of love that is folk radio! Also good news: “Spring Tide” is now available on CDBaby, which means you can order physical copies or you can purchase downloads to your heart’s content. The album is in the pipeline for iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, etc so I will let you know when that happens. Check it out on CDBaby here!

Other wonderful news…you may recall I got to go up to Michigan in May for a house concert and video project. That project has come to fruition and I am absolutely blown away with how it turned out! And we have all been blown away by the response…over 135,000 views so far. The song, written by Chris Brooks, Steve Swanson and Peter Ammel, has such a timely and heart-warming message. I got to work with an amazing artist, Michael Waite, whose voice just gives me chills. And what a wonderful crew of folks who made it happen! (Mysteriously, the footage of me wading barefoot through freezing cold water somehow didn’t make it past the editing room, ha!!) But seriously, I love this song and this video. I hope you’ll check it out and share if you feel moved! The generous sponsor of this video was Hilltop RV. Woop!!

Shows this month are off the charts awesome, not to mention that I get to go to my favorite spot on earth — southwestern Colorado — this month. It’s a good thing I have some shows because I gotta pay for my fly-fishing habit somehow! 🙂

Oh how I loved singing with my friend RJ Cowdery at the Sisters Concert in the Park…what a night! There was a dog sitting in the front row who howled every time the audience applauded…it was so awesome!

what an absolute joy to sing with RJ and to revel in her beautiful songs and stories and voice

and even though we had to get up at 6 to drive over the mountain the next day, we had the most wonderful workshop and house concert in Veneta! and guess what… our hosts had brand new puppies in the house!

this was my favorite view from the bluff at Hidden River Songwriting Camp. sighhhhh…. not pictured: the bald eagles who kept watching and listening to our campfire songs…

the joyful crew of camp # 2…thanks Richey for capturing the moment!

on the first weekend, the moon made a grand entrance and took our breath away…

4. THE FUTURE… After an amazing month, I am humbled and reminded of how lucky I am to have a life in music and the arts. I believe with all my heart that a song can change a life, and so can a poem. We need art like we need air, and we turn to it time and time again to help us through our life’s passages. I feel so fortunate to be making music and to have the privilige of your listening ears. I hope you’ll come to shows and spread the word to your friends. I hope you’ll enjoy these beautiful summer days. I hope you’ll reach out if you feel moved. I am ever grateful! Your fan,
