1. GRATITUDE. Tis the season for giving thanks indeed. I am deeply grateful to these fine folks for helping to make November so wonderful…Bill & Pat and my Albany family – Jim & Gordon, Neil & Lynn, Colleen & Eric for taking such good care of me. Thanks to Matt and all at Club Passim, Jess Klein, all at the University Club and the Albany Pump Station, Tara and crew at Burlap and Bean and Heather Mae, Connor Garvey and all at Signature Sounds, everyone at NERFA, the Schultz family and friends, Robert & Tricia, the Hoffmans and friends, Bob Howard and all at Open Door at Ascension, Anna Tivel, and Mark & Jeanne and all at Olympia Acoustic Concerts!
2. THE NEWS…The big news is that we started recording a new album this week! Tyler Fortier is at the helm producing and we’ve got Milo Fultz on bass and Jeramy Burchett on drums with many more special guest stars to come. We’ve taken over The Rye Room here in Portland for a few days to lay down the bones of what will be my 11th album. I still can’t believe it! And I can’t wait to share it with you soon.
Speaking of The Rye Room, I got to be a part of their video series they do in partnership with Vortex Music Magazine recently. Check out these two sparkly new videos! And thank you Vortex Music Magazine for this lovely write-up!Â

And finally, a huge announcement: a dream of several years is finally coming true! My friend John Felty and his company Mountainsong Productions are putting on The Songsmith Gathering, the first ever songwriters’ festival at the beautiful Brevard Music Center in NC on April 21, 2018. I am beyond thrilled and cannot WAIT for this to unfold – it has been years in the making! Not only do I get to share the stage with AMAZING artists like The Wood Brothers, Darrell Scott, Sarah Siskind, Nicki Bluhm, Greg Brown, Clint Roberts and more, but the bonus is that I get to co-lead Songsmith School, a two-day songwriting workshop with the great Sarah Siskind in the days leading up to the festival. WHAT!?!??! My head is exploding in the best possible way. The southeast in April is a delight.. won’t you join us?Â

4. THE FUTURE…ahhhh I look forward to a break from the road in my immediate future! I hope you get some rest and respite during this holiday season. Time to turn inward and pay attention to the urge to slow down. Time to give thanks for all blessings. I am excited for a new poetry book and a new album in 2018 and seeing where those creative endeavors take me. I’m excited to explore deeper collaborations with musical friends. I’m excited to expand on the work I’m doing with the new management team.Â
Above all I wish you peace and abundance in the new year. Thank you for your enduring support and encouragement! With deep gratitude from your fan,
