2. THE NEWS…Oh there is so much to tell you

Firstly, I’m honored to be co-leading two very special workshops this month — a women’s songwriting and performance workshop with Vicki Ambinder here in Portland on April 7 & 8, and the Songsmith Song School with Sarah Siskind in Brevard, NC on April 19-20. Both of these workshops will create a safe, encouraging, space to play and work on your craft, and both are in breathtakingly beautiful settings. There are still a few spaces left – I hope you’ll join us! Here’s the info..

Secondly, oh there are some fun collabrations coming up! On April 13 I am delighted to be bringing my trio to beautiful Chateau Ste. Michelle winery for their Sessions concert series. I will be joined by the insanely talented Milo Fultz on bass and Bryan Daste on pedal steel, and we’ll be previewing some songs from the new album, woop! And then…something I have been dreaming of for years…a songwriters’ festival in my beloved Brevard, NC! I am thrilled to be a part of the inaugural event for Songsmith Gathering, and I will be joined by Chris Rosser and Ara Lee for my set. Check it out!

Thirdly, the album is getting sooooo close to being done! We have final mixes and we are now listening to them on as many different types of speakers as humanly possible to make sure everything sounds right. The artwork is coming along beautifully and we are still on track for a May/June release!!

Speaking of recording, in other exciting news, Ara Lee and will be recording a duo album together in June!! We have SO MUCH FUN singing together, and there is something so magical that happens when we share the stage, that we are inspired to push it further and explore where it takes us. We are thrilled to be working with producer Steven Tracy right here in Portland! Our duo will be called Stand and Sway. Recording an album is the first step and we hope to do lots of touring together in the future! And we dream of creating workshops and working with women and girls to share the power creativity and creative practice. Stay tuned for lots more news on this! Here’s a video from our Aurora Chorus rehearsal singing “Open Song”…
