61980 NW Skyline Ranch Rd. Singer-songwriter-poet Beth Wood and pianist-singer-songwriter Naomi Laviolette are teaming up for an intimate evening of piano, poetry, and songs at the beautiful UUFCO fellowship hall in Bend.
Naomi and Beth discovered the delicious alchemy of combining Naomi’s calming, peaceful solo piano compositions (under the name Lucente Skye) with Beth’s moving and grounding poetry, and they can’t wait to share it with you! They will share these unique collaborations for the first set and then put on their singer-songwriter hats for a set of songs, stories, and harmonies.
A portion of this event’s proceeds will support the Central Oregon Lullaby Project, a brand-new program Beth is just getting off the ground in collaboration with The Tower Theatre! A project of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, Lullaby Project pairs new and expecting parents and caregivers with professional artists to write and sing personal lullabies for their babies, supporting parental health, aiding childhood development, and strengthening the bond between parent and child.
Beth and Naomi are both teaching artists with the Oregon Symphony Lullaby Project in Portland, a yearly endeavor in which musicians from the Oregon Symphony and local singer-songwriters, parents and parents-to-be experiencing homelessness and other challenging life situations create personal lullabies for their children. Beth and Naomi are passionate about this program that builds community and uplifts all involved!
All ages are welcome. Tickets are $20 for UUFCO members/$25 General Admission in advance/$30 General Admission at the door. Ticket link coming soon!
