The Lullaby Project – conceived by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute – uses the creative process of songwriting to improve maternal health and child bonds with pregnant women and new mothers experiencing housing insecurity and other challenging life situations. Together with musicians from the Oregon Symphony and local singer-songwriters, mothers and mothers-to-be are creating personal lullabies for their children, expressing their hopes and dreams for the future.

The music created by the mothers, songwriters, and musicians will be showcased in this special community performance at The Old Church. at 4:30 pm.

Sisters Songworks is an intimate and intensive weekend writing retreat in beautiful Sisters, Oregon celebrating and exploring the art of songwriting in community. The inaugural event will bring in noted songwriters and poets Beth Wood, Anna Tivel and Tom Kimmel to lead the workshop sessions and mentor participants.

Sisters Songworks is an opportunity to learn from professional singer-songwriters, connect with others who share a love of songwriting and poetry, share your work in a non-performance focused setting, and engage in creativity in a supportive environment.

Maximum of 24 participants, divided into smaller groups for workshop sessions.

All instructors are poets as well as songwriters. The focus will be on the craft of songwriting as a literary artform with an emphasis on lyrics.

The weekend retreat will include small group workshops, song circles, a community dinner, opportunities for collaboration, and an instructor concert at Sisters’ beautiful listening room The Belfry on Saturday night. Discounted room rates are available for participants at The Best Western Ponderosa Lodge in Sisters.

BW is honored to be the guest artist at Singtime Frolics, a spring weekend of singing, jamming, learning and sharing at Portland FolkMusic Society's annual retreat. Singtime Frolics takes place at the Menucha Conference and Retreat Center near Corbett, Oregon less than an hour's drive from Portland in the spectacular Columbia Gorge. Menucha offers a choice of dormitory bunks, semi-private and private rooms in beautiful hills overlooking the Columbia Gorge. Menucha is known for its excellent food served family style, and of course special meals can be prepared to meet dietary needs.
