Hello Peeps!

Little Hands, Big Plans...it's not too late!
Guess what, I'm dreaming up more Big Plans! It's not too late to pre-order the new CD. Or let's just call it order! See below...

Little Hands, Big Plans

1. The News: Drumroll please.....Well everyone, we did it!! The new CD "The Weather Inside" is finished and sitting in my living room! I feel a bit like a little old lady who just won the sweepstakes (you know, the one with Ed McMahon). I don't quite know what to do with all this gratitude so I will start by thanking all of you for being a part of my creative journey.

All of you pre-ordering Angels, Bad-asses, Superfans and Fans, I am in the process of mailing all of your packages as fast my little hands can go. I promise to have them all out by Saturday! If you provided me with an email address, I will let you know when i have mailed them so you can be on the lookout. Thank you so much for making this possible!

The plan for now is to sell the new CD at shows while I can gather the forces for an "official" release date (hopefully meaning a radio promotion campaign, tour booked by somebody else, publicity campaign, and distribution of some kind). I'm mustering the courage to Dream Big as I believe in this project with my heart and soul! I am working on figuring out how to nuture this creative work now that it is done. I am envisioning a healthy work life where I can call on my team to create opportunities and manage admin details while I create, perform, and live a well-balanced life with enough down time at home to remain sane. What if it all goes right?!?!

Other news...I am delighted to be returning as an instructor to the Sisters Song Academy and a performer at the Sisters Folk Festival! Four years ago I entered their song contest on a whim, and now it turns out that this community has fostered so many relationships and good times! What a blessing to have these folks so close to home. I am looking forward to eating Annie's food, facilitating a voice workshop, hearing lots of inspiring music, deepening old friendships and beginning new ones.

2. Gratitude... I know it sounds hokey, but if there's anything that will cure the blues, it's writing 120 thank you notes. :) Special thanks to all of these fine folks for helping, cheering, nurturing, organizing, and being kind...Woods & Hurts & Ochs & Soop, Ronnie & Barbara, T & Chris & G, Skyzenkos and Skyhorses, Clark and Salida Cafe, DeLongs and friends, Pedersons and Bill Donovan, Tom Faulkner, Sandra & Tom & friends, KLCC, Gina & Kathy and Stillpoint Farm Womens Festival, Gentle Thunder, Shireen Amini, Alice DiMicele, Susan Werner, Trina Hamlin, and Grandmother Aggie, who inspired us all.

A few fun memories from a very full August...

--Fly fishing in the rain and hail on North Clear Creek with my sweetie and not having a care in the world (the fish didn't care about the hail, either, and the creek was certainly NOT clear!)
--Singing songs with my dear family around the campfire...of course my favorite was singing "Travelin' John David", an adaptation of the original for my cousin JD.
--Playing at the lake with the Pederson family... they were so patient even though it took me about a million tries to get up on water skis. And then there was, of course, the giant face-plant in the water. :)
--A word of advice... don't leave snacks in your car in Durango with your doors unlocked. Very clever bears like to help themselves to your stuff by opening the door with their paws...it was Marty's car but thank goodness, no damage! Best part, he didn't eat the health food.
--Got pulled over by state troopers in Nowhere, WY for "crossing the center line", which I most certainly did not! It was quite an enlightening experience getting searched for drugs! Dogs and everything. Guess I shouldn't have told them I was a musician...duh! Best line: "Well, ma'am, the dogs don't lie." HA! Too bad they were barking up the wrong musician. :)
--Singing and playing with Gentle Thunder and Shireen Amini at the Stillpoint Farm Women's Festival was phenomenal... something magical happened, y'all! Actually, the whole day was magical...

3. Call to Action...

Ok, guys, I am trying to remain open to a few things in the works but still planning some trips for spring 2011. It looks like, to quote Motorcycle Bill, the "great BW Northeast boycott" will finally be over! Now y'all know I wasn't boycotting the northeast, I LOVE it there... but it's so dang far away! But looks like mid May is going to bring me to the northeast again, so please let me know if there are new fabulous listening room venues I should try, or if you would like to host a house concert. Also, something midwest may be happening in mid-April! So same goes for ya'll fabulous mid-westerners!

Much gratitude to all of you for listening, reading, clapping, writing, cheering me on. It's not always as easy as it looks to carve my own path, but your shining faces remind me to keep going. Hope to see you down the road. Your fan,
